Apart from that, I'm a fifty-something female with no dependants. I work in government health policy, which is even less exciting than it sounds. I have a large circle of acquaintances and a very small circle of good friends. I have travelled to all continents bar South America and Antarctica, and while I love living in Australia, if I had my druthers I'd live in Scotland or New Zealand. My flat is full of books and fabric, reflecting my two main pastimes of reading and quilting (I dabble in other hobbies but rarely follow them for long). I rarely write letters anymore and I loathe phones, hence the establishment of this journal, which was supposed to be the way in which my friends could keep up with my activities... if only I could keep up the entries.
You can also find me at Dreamwidth, but for now this will remain my principal blog.

"The world is such a cheerful place when viewed from upside down -
it makes a rise of every fall, a smile of every frown." (Flanders & Swann)
